NILES, Mich. -- They say the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach. Luckily, for all of you lovebirds, Michiana's Menu has the perfect place for your Valentine’s sweet treat.

Welcome to Veni’s Sweet Shop. Located in Niles, Michigan, they have been warming the hearts of the community for over one hundred years.

“Well, we do things the old-fashioned way, you saw our kitchen and what we cook on, we are making small batches by hand with top quality ingredients; we are just different,” says Linda Skwarcan, Veni’s Sweet Shop.

While the ‘old fashioned way’ has always been a part of their roots, the home to delicious chocolate first found its method starting in 1910.

Veni’s Sweet Shop was originally a fruit and nut company. Then, in the 1930’s it was a soda fountain shop with the introduction of handmade chocolates. The chocolates stuck. In the 1970’s, they found their way focusing on all types of homemade candy.

The shop is in the same exact building from 150 years ago. Now, grandparents come in with their grandchildren telling them the stories of their own time at the old soda shop. 

“We get a lot of support from the Niles community, we have people come in with memories of it being a soda fountain shop, and we are blessed to have such a supportive community.”

They offer a large variety of chocolate, fudge, popcorn, caramels, chocolate covered fruit, assorted candies and more! It really is the one stop shop for all of your Valentine’s day needs.
