What month is it, Michiana?
Just a few days from the start of April, low temperatures have fallen to 20 degrees or below for the last three days in South Bend. We have to go back to 2015 to find that long of a cold stretch this "late" in the year.
Typically, South Bend sees it's last low temperature in the teens by March 25. So, while this cold isn't exactly unseasonable, it is, for many, unwelcomed.
There are signs that the tide is beginning to turn. Temperatures are expected to be above-normal during the month of April.
However, more near-term projections suggest that the warm-up might wait until the second half of April to fully materialize across Michiana.
Regardless, while lows might fall a bit below freezing over the next few weeks, the very cold starts to our days should be done going forward.
Here's to ACTUAL spring soon!
