Victim identified in fatal Walkerton crash

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The victim in a fatal crash in Walkerton on Monday evening has been identified.
Misty S. Chaney-Courtney, 33, of South Bend, died from her injuries.
According to the St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team investigation, Chaney-Courtney was northbound on State Road 23 near Walnut Road when the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu, who was traveling southbound, allegedly collided with Chaney-Courtney’s vehicle, reports said.
The driver of the Malibu was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Chaney-Courtney was airlifted to the hospital where she later died.
Two passengers in Chaney-Courtney’s vehicle were not injured in the crash.
The FACT team is handling the ongoing investigation.
