(CNN)—Video released by the US Coast Guard shows the moment a kayaker, who was making a solo trip from California to Hawaii, was rescued over the weekend.
The man called for help after he lost GPS capabilities and nearly capsized due to heavy weather.
Coast Guard members were able to hoist the kayaker in the helicopter and bring him to safety.
The kayaker was in good condition, according to the Coast Guard.
