Vintage planes to visit Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. -- On Saturday, the sounds of vintage planes will echo over Elkhart!

More than 40 different World War II aircraft will fly overhead.

Last year, the event was closed to the public, but this year, the Elkhart Municipal Airport opened it to everyone!

"This started out as just a gathering of friends,” explained Chuck Marshall, War Bird Enthusiast. "It was so successful last year; they said well, you have to do it again!"

"The guys who are coming are from all walks of life, they love aviation. They're all professional pilots in one sense or another."

Breakfast is at 7 a.m. and the flying starts at 10 a.m.

Organizers ask for a $10 donation to help offset the cost of fuel for airplanes.
