Visitor restrictions in place at hospitals

Memorial Hospital in South Bend and Elkhart General are taking precautionary steps to keep patients from catching any further illnesses. Starting Friday, December 26, visitation will be limited due to a high number of respiratory illnesses being reported in the area.

According to Beacon Health Systems, no visitors 18 years old or younger or anyone showing signs of illness will be permitted.

Again, this limitation is a precaution. At this time, no timeline has been given on when the restrictions will be lifted.
