Some Beach-goers say their 4th of July at Silver Beach was a dangerous one. That's after reports of fights and even fireworks being set off in close proximity to families.
People took to social media, even hitting our Facebook page.
Rusty Edwards of Goshen posted a video to our page that showed crowds throwing bottles and fireworks being ignited. Fireworks are prohibited on the beach by the Berrien County Parks Department.
Edwards even says he felt he had to guard his 3-month-old because of the commotion.
Some witnesses also reported alcohol use and drug use. Both are prohibited on the beach.
St. Joseph police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
