According to the Lupus Foundation of America, 1.5 million Americans have Lupus, mostly occurring in women ages 14-44.
Lupus, a chronic disease, makes the body's immune system attack healthy tissue.
Lupus can affect people in different ways ranging from pain, extreme fatigue, cognitive issues or strokes. Some people don't show symptoms at all.
The Lupus Foundation of America is currently hard at work to end Lupus by continuing stem cell research, diagnosing Lupus faster, developing better treatments and developing a network to guide those living with Lupus.
They've secured $550 million in federal funds to help with research, professional training and education over the past five years.
One Lupus Warrior, Katherine Craven, decides to walk "as a concrete way for me to take back some of that control."
