Christmas tree farms sales impacted by weather
Another round of powerful storms walloped Walkerton early Thursday morning.
Streets littered with debris after heavy rain and strong winds rolled through while it was still dark.
The wind woke David Ludwig up, as the strong storms knocking down power lines and poles by his house.
“I looked out the window and I could see trees blowing sideways,” Ludwig described.
One of those nearby trees--blowing all the way over--on top of Sarah Thayer’s house.
“All of a sudden there was a big crash and boom and I woke up and looked out the window, and [the tree] was on our house.”
The damage was only fully realized after first light. Many residents were frustrated with the flurry of storm activity over the last week.
Jeremy McCoig says it's important to keep things in perspective through the slew of severe weather.
“As long as everybody is ok, the little ones ok, we’re good. Things can be replaced,” McCoig said.
