Wall heater sparks southwest Michigan fire Friday morning

LINCOLN TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Lincoln Charter Township Fire Department and Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety responded to and extinguished a structure fire on Friday morning that fire officials say was started by a wall heater.
Crews responded to the home in the 5900 block of Dunham Avenue in Lincoln Township around 9:30 a.m. on April 18 and found smoke showing from the roof and fire coming from a corner of the home.
"Neighbors told us that someone may be inside the structure upon arrival," the LCTFD said. "Engine 24 showed up on scene and did a primary search from the alpha side of the structure Benton Harbor arrived on scene and did a search from the Charlie side of the structure. All searches were negative in the home. The fire was extinguished, and overhaul was completed. The cause of the fire was determined to be a wall heater."
