Wanted man located with rifle and large amount of drugs, arrested on multiple charges

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. -- The Fulton County Sheriff's Office reports deputies recently located and arrested a Rochester man with an active felony warrant out of Pulaski County at Northgate Apartments.

29-year-old Solomon Newcomb was observed entering a vehicle at Northgate Apartments by Senior Deputy Mitchell Scott, who knew Newcomb to have an active felony arrest warrant.

The deputy conducted a traffic stop when authorities say Newcomb fled from the vehicle.

The report states Newcomb was taken into custody a short time later without incident.

Authorities say a search of Newcomb and the vehicle revealed a short barrel rifle, ammunition, approximately 153 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, and paraphernalia.

Newcomb was taken to the Fulton County Jail and charged with Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Marijuana with a prior conviction, Possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction, and the Pulaski County Felony Arrest Warrant.
