Water rescue on Notre Dame’s campus

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Notre Dame police and fire departments, along with the South Bend Fire Department, were involved in a water rescue at St. Joseph Lake on Friday, according to a Notre Dame University spokesperson.

St. Joseph County dispatch said they received a call concerning a man in the lake at 7:15 p.m. Friday.

The spokesperson said the man was recovered from the lake and transported to Memorial Hospital.

Extent of the man’s condition and injuries are currently unknown.

It is also currently unknown if the man is involved with the university in any capacity.
