Weather could delay games at Four Winds field

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Crews over at Four Winds Field downtown are scrambling to get the field ready for the first day of spring baseball Friday.

ABC57 stopped by to see how they are getting ready for the Fighting Irish's home-away-from-home opener Thursday.

There are still lingering snow mounds in the outfield and ice balls in the stands.

"We have water running to help melt anything we can do. We've been shoveling, really this issue is in the corners where we had drifts early in the year," said Joe Hart of the South Bend Silver Hawks.

The Irish are set to play Virginia Tech Friday at 5:30 depending on the weather.
