Music enthusiasts gathered for the inaugural South Bend Record Show Summer Bash

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Vinyl collectors and vendors filled the Gillespie Conference Center Sunday for the inaugural South Bend Record Show Summer Bash.

This new, combined event is replacing what used to be two separate shows earlier and later in the summer.

Organizer Jeremy Bonfiglio said attendance had been declining across the two separate dates, so this year, organizers merged the shows into one bigger event

"You know, we have food trucks, we're going to have a cash bar. So yeah, we've really kind of upped it a little bit to you know make it a little something special."

This year's format brought around 350 to 400 people with a pizza truck, food vendors, and a DJ to turn the used to be vendor marketplace to a summer festival.

Barry Price, owner of Monkey with Records, said this new format should hopefully get some new people to come out.

"It's more than just records today. It's come out with music enthusiasts and spend the day looking at records and talking music."
