Webb found guilty of murder in second trial

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The man accused of shooting Cherlyn Reyes of South Bend in October 2009 was convicted during his second trial, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

Brice Webb had already been convicted of Reyes’ murder, but the Indiana Supreme Court overturned that decision on March 23, 2012 and remanded it for a new trial. The court stated that further instructions on lesser included offenses should have been given to the jury in the 2010 trial.

After a five day jury trial, Webb was found guilty of murder and of being a habitual offender.

Sentencing is set for May 13m 2013.
