West Side Democratic Club sets up for Dyngus Day

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Break out the eggs and sausage, and grab a beer while you're at it!

Monday is Dyngus Day, and preparations are already underway.

On Friday, we stopped by the West Side Democratic Club in South Bend.

Members spent the day hanging banners, setting up lights, and getting lots of food ready.

"It takes a lot of preparation time to get to this point. There are preparations of cleaning, repairing, bringing the old club back up to snuff so it looks presentable for Dyngus Day," said Timothy Hudak, President of the West Side Democratic Club.

Hundreds are expected to come out for the party.

Dyngus Day is traditionally the unofficial kick-off of election season.

The West Side Democratic Club opens on Monday at 9 a.m.
