Wet roads cause Elkhart County crash Tuesday night

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says wet roads were a factor in a crash at the intersection of C.R. 17 and S.R. 120 around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

Deputies say a 2015 Toyota Avalon was heading east on S.R. 120 west of C.R. 17 in Elkhart County when the driver, 34-year-old Kaydan Allen Soli attempted to turn south on C.R. 17 at the stop light and slid into the northbound lanes of travel.

Soli's Avalon struck a 2013 Chevy Silverado being driven by 70-year-old James Anthony Nelson that was stopped in traffic.

Soli was transported to the Elkhart General Hospital for complaint of pain and was cited for speeds too fast for roadway conditions.

Authorities say Impairment was not a factor in the crash.
