SOUTH BEND, Ind. - One of South Bend Woodworks' pieces, a giant wooden train engine, has been incorporated into the White House's holiday display.
Company president Mike Lindburg got the news over the Thanksgiving weekend.
In September, a Chicago-based company contacted Lindburg about making a bigger version of the company's South Bend Express wooden train engine.
The Chicago company wanted one large enough an adult could possibly ride on.
The red and black train is 4.5' by 2'.
The train is displayed in the East Garden Room.
Lindburg and his wife have been invited to a reception at the White House on Friday, December 12.
