Win against Spartans gives Irish big jump in polls

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame fans can continue to celebrate.

The new AP and Coaches polls are out and Notre Dame is ranked very high in both. In the USA Today's Coaches poll, the Irish are ranked No. 15.

In the AP poll, they top out at No.11, and the next big test, for the Fighting Irish is Michigan this Saturday. Michigan entered this week at No. 17 in the USA Today poll and No. 18 in the AP Top 25.

Michigan fans will remember September 10, 2011. The Wolverines marched down the field in the final minute of the game when Denard Robinson threw a touchdown pass, to beat the Irish in the final seconds.

This time around, Notre Dame has the advantage. The game is at home Saturday starting at 7:30 p.m.
