NILES, Mich. – The chainsaws are sharp and the ice is cold. The 2012 Hunter Ice Festival is officially underway in Niles.
There you can see a range of ice sculptors. There's everything from six foot tall sea horses to more practical things like an ice ping-pong and ice hockey table.
Carvers said they’re welcoming the colder and of course snowier weather.
“This is great. This is perfect. It’s a winter wonderland this is an outdoor freezer for us. This is what we live for so it doesn’t bother us plus we stay pretty active working it s not as cold as you would think,” said Revered Butter.
The festival and carving will go on all weekend.
