Woman accused of attempting to abduct 7-year-old girl

NILES, Mich. -- A 50-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to abduct a 7-year-old girl in Niles.

According to the Niles Police Department, 50-year-old Bonnie Farrow approached a 7-year-old in the 600 block of N. 7th Street and told the girl she was in danger and attempted to lead the girl out of the area.

A neighbor yelled at Farrow to stop and the girl ran to her house and went inside.

Farrow allegedly followed the girl and entered her house, according to police.

The girl's mother was in the bathroom and heard a knock on the bathroom door. When she came out, the mother saw Farrow in her home, police said.

Farrow allegedly said she was a "CPS worker," but the mother did not believe her and ordered the woman out of her house.

Farrow left the home and was later located by police and arrested.

She has been charged with home invasion first degree, kidnapping/child enticement and impersonating an FIA worker.

Farrow is being held in the Berrien County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bond.
