Woman allegedly stabs man, says she 'was trying to kill him'

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - A woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing a man who was reportedly intoxicated and kept "walking up" on the woman, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Lillian Lee, 65, was charged with one count of battery by means of a deadly weapon.

On Saturday, officers with the South Bend Police Department were called to an apartment complex for a report of an unwanted person in the area.

At the scene, officers met with a man who was covered in blood and told police he had been stabbed.

Officers believed the man was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reports said.

A witness to the incident said the man "walked up" on Lillian Lee, and in turn, Lee grabbed a knife and stabbed him, police reported.

Police met with Lee, who said she stabbed the man because he was acting crazy and wouldn't get out of her house, reports said.

According to Lee, the victim came over to her residence to visit someone who was staying with her.

The victim was intoxicated and kept using profanities and getting in Lee's face, she said.

The next time the victim walked up to Lee, Lee grabbed a knife and stabbed him, according to reports.

The victim allegedly had a knife but Lee said she couldn't recall when she had seen it.

After stabbing him, Lee went to her room, she said.

Lee repeatedly told the victim to leave but he would not, according to reports.

She said she walked to the victim to stab him again, police reported.

Lee allegedly said, "I kept stabbing him, I was trying to kill him."

The victim left the residence but then came back in, and Lee stabbed him again, reports said.

Lee then called the police.

Lee is being held on a $3,000 cash bond.

Her initial hearing is scheduled for February 21.
