Woman and 9-year-old boy ejected in single vehicle crash, woman airlifted

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind.  - Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office reports Kosciusko County Emergency Personnel responded to the intersection of CR 1000 North and CR 450 East in Syracuse just after 6 p.m. for a single vehicle crash.

When authorities arrived on scene, they located a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer off the south side of roadway just west of CR 450 East.

Responders then found 38-year-old Alisha Rowe of Nappanee, who had been ejected from the vehicle.

They also found a 9-year-old boy who had been ejected.

Rowe was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne and the boy was taken to Lutheran by ambulance.

The investigation shows the Trailblazer was traveling westbound on CR 1000 North approaching CR 450 East.

The Trailblazer then left the north side of the roadway for an unknown reason and traveled through a field.

It then went across CR 450 East and continued through the field and rolled several times before coming to a stop on the south side of CR 1000 North.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Kosciusko County Fatal Team and several other local emergency response services.
