Woman arrested in Michigan City stabbing incident

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. – A woman has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left a man injured early Wednesday morning.
Deputies responded to Franciscan Health Michigan City Campus at approximately 4:48 a.m. on March 6 after a male victim arrived with a stab wound to his upper torso.
The 35-year-old man told authorities he was attacked during a disturbance with 30-year-old Heather D. Kist inside a room at the Dunes Inn on North Frontage Road.
Detectives from the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation, and the Fugitive Apprehension Street Team (FAST) located Kist at a hotel in Knox, Indiana, on March 7. She was taken into custody without incident.
Kist faces a charge of aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony, and is being held at the La Porte County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
