Woman comes home to 4,000 gallons of raw sewage

DOVER, Mich.-- A woman returned to her Michigan home to find over 4,000 gallons of raw sewage floating in her basement.

Eva Box, who is partially blind, said that she was stunned.

Neighbors claim that they have been dealing with problems like this for years.

The sewage was so bad, the clean up crews had to wear special protective gear.

Colin Boury with Dover Environmental said, "It's pretty terrible, it's thick, it's probably eight inches thick and the whole basement's flooded so we got another truck coming because it's that big."

The raw sewage destroyed Box's furnace and water heater.

Plumbers don't know what is causing the problem.

They think that is is wither the city's sewer system or the trees on the property.
