Woman faces OWI, Resisting Law Enforcement, Obstruction of Justice charges

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- A Delphi, Indiana woman is facing several charges after allegedly crashing into a mailbox while drunk driving in a "state of undress" early Wednesday.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports deputies were investigating the area of S.R. 8 for a reportedly impaired driver who'd struck a mailbox.

Deputies soon located a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description at the corner of S.R. 8 and S.R. 17.

Authorities identified the suspect driver as Britney Nicole Kellems.

The report states Kellems was found in "a state of undress" and under the influence of alcohol.

The vehicle was also noted to have had recent damage.

Kellems was taken for a certified test, which deputies say showed a BAC of .282.

She was taken to Marshall County Jail.

Kellems is charged with Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated - Endangerment, a Misdemeanor, Resisting Law Enforcement, a Misdemeanor, and Obstruction of Justice, a Level 6 Felony.
