Woman found on Berrien County beach identified as missing woman

The Berrien County Sheriff's Department has released the identity of the woman whose body was located on the shore of Lake Michigan Sunday afternoon.

Deputies were called to the shoreline north of Warren Dunes State Park around 12:40 p.m. Sunday after a person discovered the body while walking along the shore.

The woman has been identified as Eddisa Concepcion Herrera. She disappeared after jumping into Lake Michigan at the North Avenue Beach in Chicago on December 21, 2018.

The Chicago Police Department assisted in the investigation.

Police said it was an accidental drowning.
