Woman in Cass County transported to hospital after crashing vehicle

CASS COUNTY, Mich. – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that sent a 19-year-old woman to the hospital.

The crash happened around 4:50 a.m. Saturday morning on M-40 Highway near Bald Hill Street in Newberg Township.

The driver, 19-year-old Courtney Bridges of Union, was traveling southbound on M-40 when she crashed into mailbox and utility pole.

Emergency personnel transported Bridges to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Deputies say that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The crash is under investigation.
