Woman injured in armed robbery at apartment complex

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A woman was injured when a man robbed her in the parking lot of the Overlook apartment complex, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department.

The robbery happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The victim told deputies she was getting out of her vehicle when she was approached by a man with a firearm who took her purse from her.

While taking her purse, the man struck her in the face with the gun, causing injury.

The suspect left in a dark colored minivan.
