ELKHART, Ind. -- The 31-year-old woman killed in a single-vehicle crash near the Elkhart County line, has been identified.
The St. Joseph County Police Department says the victim was identified as Megan Martin of Granger.
Officers got the call around 12:40 a.m. from drivers who passed the accident.
Assistant Chief Bill Thompson confirmed that it was a single vehicle, single occupant accident.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Ash Road and Douglas, right on the county line. Earlier today, Ash Road to Douglas and Day was blocked off while crews worked to investigate and clear the road.
Thompson mentioned the fatal alcohol team was not called out to investigate because there seemed to be no alcohol involved.
Speed is believed to have played a factor in this deadly crash.
