Woman killed in multi-vehicle collision on SR9
A woman was killed after she struck a trailer, then was hit head on by another vehicle Thursday evening in LaGrange County, according to the LaGrange County Sheriff's Office.
LaGrange County deputies responded to a car crash in the 6000 block of South State Road 9 around 9:50 p.m. Thursday.
Deputies say Michael Ort was driving a 2006 Dodge truck towing a car hauling trailer in the southbound lanes.
Ort stopped at his residence and began to back the trailer into his driveway.
Constance Engdahl was driving a 2006 Hyundai north on SR9 when her vehicle collided with the trailer, according to deputies.
After her car hit the trailer, her vehicle spun 180 degrees and was facing south in the northbound lane with no working headlights, deputies said.
A driver of a 2002 Honda collided head-on with Engdahl's vehicle, according to deputies.
Engdahl was extricated from her vehicle and transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
She died from her injuries.
The other drivers were not injured.
