Woman rescued from high water

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis firefighters had to rescue a woman after her SUV got stuck in high water.

The woman got trapped early Friday morning near 59th Street and Moller Road.

The road connects two apartment complexes and often floods during heavy rain.

Two firefighters had to use ropes to navigate the rushing water.

"Fast water rescues are a deceiving type of issue, cause even though you look out here, see the car not even half way submerged in maybe 2-3 feet of water, we still have to set up as if it's 10 feet of water," said Robert Saunders, Pike Township Fire Department.

After several minutes crews helped guide the woman to safety. Luckily, she wasn't hurt.
