Woman taken to hospital in critical condition after serious accident

One person was rushed to the hospital in critical condition early Sunday morning after being involved in an accident.

Police responded to the accident around 6:45 a.m.

The Saint Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office says a 27-year-old driver in a burgundy Impala was heading east on McKinley Avenue.

According to police, the driver went through a red light and struck another car heading north on Main Street.

The 22-year-old driver of the car that was hit was taken to Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

The Fatal Accident Crash Team was called to the scene to handle the investigation which is ongoing.
