Workforce Development releases new unemployment numbers for Indiana

There is good news on the economic front.



The new unemployment rates are out, and Indiana has the lowest numbers since 2008.



The state's jobless rate dropped to 7.9 percent last month.



That's down from 8.2 in March, and slightly below the national mark of 8.1 percent.



Workforce Development shows Indiana added more than 15,000 jobs in April.



Here's a breakdown on local numbers.



St. Joseph County's jobless rate improved to 8.9 percent last month.



Elkhart dropped to 8.7. LaPorte went to 9.6. Marshall is at 8.1. Kosciusko County fell to 6.6.



Each county saw a substantial drop from March.
