World Trade Center Memorial unveiled in Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A piece of the World Trade Center was unveiled in Mishawaka on Thursday.

The new 9/11 Memorial at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center features pieces of concrete and steel.

It honors Ground Zero volunteers and those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 -- including South Bend native, Katie McCloskey.

Her family attended Thursday's ceremony, and talked about their visit to Ground Zero for the 10th anniversary.

"It's a beautiful memorial on a personal level it is just absolutely so meaningful to me and my family because we don't have a final resting place. This is her final resting place, at Ground Zero, in New York," said Dick McCloskey, who lost his daughter on 9/11.

The McCloskey Family and those who helped bring the beam here were also given a piece of the Trade Center.
