WWII veteran wants cards for 96th birthday
HIGHLAND, Calif.—A World War II veteran has one wish for his 96th birthday – to receive cards from people around the country.
Nicole Comstock reports that Duane Sherman’s daughter, Sue Morse, is trying to make it happen.
Sue went to Facebook to ask people to send her father cards for his December 30 birthday.
The WWII Navy veteran earned a Purple Heart for a mission he survived in 1944.
Sherman was a chief sonarman aboard the U.S.S. Lamson.
