VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. – A 13-year-old boy from Ann Arbor died from drowning in Lake Michigan on Saturday after rescue efforts were attempted but failed.
Authorities say they were responding to a report of multiple people struggling in the water.
A paddleboater rescued an adult but the young boy was still in the water.
Officials located the boy 100 yards south of the pier.
There was a yellow flag advisory due to wind and waves at the time of the incident.
