Young man shot & injured in Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. - A young man was shot Saturday evening in Goshen. 

The Goshen Police Department told ABC 57 News that the call about a shooting came in at 7:47 p.m.

Officers were dispatched to Gutierrez Bakery, 122 South Main Street where they discovered a 25-year-old man lying on the floor of the business with "injuries" to his lower extremities.

Officers did not say if the victim was shot more than once and did not go into specific details about the injuries.

The victim was conscious and transported to IU Health Goshen Hospital.

The victim's name has not been released.

ABC 57 News was told that the young man was admitted to the hospital and underwent surgery for his injuries. He is listed in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon.

Officers stress that the shooting did not happen inside the bakery. The shooting happened at a different location and the victim was transported to the bakery after getting shot. Officers have not told ABC 57 News where the shooting took place.

As of Sunday afternoon there is no information as to a possible motive, suspect or arrest.

There is also no description of the suspect to pass along.

The Goshen Police Department closed its press release with, "The incident is under investigation and there is no further information available at this time."
