12-Year-old makes difference by contacting South Bend's mayor

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A South Bend 12-year-old is making a difference in his neighborhood, one letter to the mayor at a time!

Jordan Stein saw a problem in his neighborhood.

There weren't any stop signs at the corner of Don-Moyer and High, and there have been a lot of accidents!

Jordan wrote a letter to Mayor Buttigieg, and now the city is doing something about it!

“I'm just surprised that he followed through and even responded to that question that I had,” said Jordan. "I feel pretty good now that I’m safe crossing the streets now."

On Friday, crews installed four stop signs at the corner. Jordan hopes the signs will increase safety in the area.
