14-year-old driver crashes into the Lerner Theatre

A 14-year-old driver fled from police and crashed into The Lerner Theatre early Tuesday morning, according to Elkhart Police.

At 1:04 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1200 block of Franklin Street.

The driver fled from officers and the pursuit was terminated, police said.

Police learned the vehicle crashed into the Lerner Theatre on Main Street. The crash caused damage to the northwest corner of the building, police said.

The driver was a 14-year-old male and there were three other juveniles in the vehicle.

They were all taken into custody, police said.
