1953 IU team honored for national championship victory

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The legacy of the 1953 Indiana University Hoosier championship team has not been forgotten in Bloomington.
The surviving members of the team were honored during the Sam Houston State game.
The team beat Kansas by one point 69 to 80 to win the national title that year.
The Hoosiers beat Sam Houston State 99 to 45.
