ELKHART, Ind. -- Hundreds of flags lined downtown Elkhart in honor of Memorial Day.
A record number of 218 flags were placed throughout the City Center Park.
They are dedications from residents to honor service members on Memorial Day.
The local Boy Scouts have been out all weekend watching over the flags and making sure no one disturbs them.
"The boys enjoy this campout, over all of the campouts that we do. They really get a great sense of pride in being out here, helping out with Flags from the Heart," said Michelle Metcalf, Boy Scout Troop Committee Chair.
About half the flags are new dedications, the rest are renewals.
