25 dogs and cats from neglect case available for adoption

Humane Society of Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The 25 dogs and cats rescued from a single neglectful home Monday, Apr. 27 will soon be ready to find their new homes, according to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.

In an announcement from the Humane Society of Elkhart County Thursday, the 23 dogs and two cats from a single animal cruelty case are starting to become available for adoption.

The 25 pets were initially unable to be adopted due to required medical treatment and recovery time after being taken in the same day as 36 other pets, but after a week of care, some are available to a good home.

Despite soon being up for adoption, the Humane Society notes these dogs and cats will require patience while they learn they're safe, with some of them still requiring medications and veterinary care going forward.
