27-year-old man injured in Milton Township crash

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Sunday, May 19, at around 6:45 p.m., on Bell Road south of US 12 in Milton Township.

Authorities say their ongoing investigation indicates that 27-year-old Leon House was traveling northeast on Bell Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle while entering the curve.

House then struck a tree with the side of his vehicle.

Deputies say House wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

House was taken to a hospital in South Bend for non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities believe alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
