28 more patients added to lawsuit against Praxis Landmark Recovery in Mishawaka

SOUTH BEND, Ind -- The number of former patients listed on the lawsuit against Praxis Landmark Recovery now totals 37.

The original lawsuit was filed on behalf of nine former patients, but attorney Trevor Crossen says 28 more have been added, and he says it's likely the list will grow significantly in the next few weeks.

The lawsuit claims patients sustained "serious and debilitating personal injuries" while they were at Praxis Landmark Recovery.

The drug rehab facility has been under investigation after three patients died in the Mishawaka location in July.

Two of the three died from overdoses and the third from an apparent suicide.

There were also other reports of overdoses and mistreatment of patients that eventually led to the state of Indiana revoking the license of the Mishawaka facility and two others in the state.

ABC57 investigative reporter Kevin Warmhold will have a special report on the troubled drug treatment center on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 6 pm.
