ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A 28-year-old man has been arrested on 10 counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor after allegedly having relations with the minor for a month.

The 28-year-old, Oscar Vera Valencia, was charged with 10 counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor as Level 4 Felonies.

The investigation began around 5:22 p.m. Tuesday, May 19 when officers were dispatched to a residence for reports of sexual misconduct of a minor by Valencia.

Allegedly, Valencia had confessed to having sex with the victim several times over the past days after separating with his wife.

The victim was taken to a medical center for an evaluation, where she noted that Valencia had come to her over the prior month and had sex with her.

After being read his Miranda Rights, Valencia allegedly admitted to having sex with the victim several times.

Valencia was arrested and taken to Elkhart County Jail. His initial hearing is set for Tuesday, June 2.
