ST JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - The 28th annual Relay For Life was completed this morning at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds.
The 24-hour fundraiser raises money towards cancer research and this year's event brought in a record high $117,500, which is up nearly 17% from last year's total.
The event is run by the American Cancer Society, which funds $400 million of research to cancer survivors annually. The South Bend area has contributed nearly $1 million of the total amount raised by the society.
