NAPPANEE, Ind. -- The city of Nappanee wants neighbors to get involved in its efforts to promote active transportation!
Its 2nd annual Pedal Party starts at 7A.M this Saturday.
It’s a community bike ride from Nappanee to Wakarusa, gathering support for a proposed multi-use trail that would run between the two areas.
Elkhart County has already been making strides to become more bike friendly in cities like Elkhart and Goshen.
The Wa-Nee community are already connected through schools.
Many people also work in Nappanee but live in Wakarusa, and vice versa.
The city hopes the trail will benefit the already established biking community, but also encourage more people to consider riding bikes or walking instead of driving.
Registration for the Pedal Party is $15. That includes breakfast, lunch, water bottles and t-shirts while supplies last.
Bike safety demonstrations, face-painting and other activities are also planned for the fun-filled day the whole family can enjoy!
For a full event schedule, visit the event page website.
Be sure to follow the Pedal Party Facebook page for updates on the event and the future trail!
