3-year-old drowns in pool in Paw Paw Township

PAW PAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 3-year-old who is believed to be the victim of drowning.

Deputies were dispatched to the 39000 block of Paw Paw Road regarding a possible pool drowning victim, according to a press release.

On June 26, at approximately 12:39 p.m., deputies arrived to discover a 3-year-old female unresponsive.

Authorities say despite life-saving attempts the child was pronounced deceased at Bronson Lakeview Hospital.

Authorities do not suspect foul play at this time.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incident.

Assisting agencies include Paw Paw Quick Response, Van Buren County Victim Services Unit, Van Buren Emergency Medical Services and Michigan State Police.
