Stamp Out Hunger's 31st annual food drive
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The 31st annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive will take place on Saturday, May 13.
This event is the nation’s largest single-day food drive, as well as northern Indiana’s largest food drive each year.
The Food Bank of Northern Indiana aims to collect 100,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to prepare for the busy summer months.
Donation items include canned goods, boxed dinner meals, personal care items and cleaning supplies. The food bank asks that no glass jars or pop top lids be donated.
To participate, residents can place non-perishable items in a sturdy bag by their mailboxes before 8 a.m. on the day of the event to be picked up by letter carriers. Other options include dropping off donations at any of the postal branch retail counters before the drive.
